Safeguarding at Hornsea Bowls Centre
The safety and welfare of our members is very important to Hornsea Bowls Centre. We want all our members and visitors to enjoy their time with us, to feel safe and valued as individuals and members.
To this end the club has a dedicated Safeguarding Officer (Lis Watson), has adopted the Anti Bullying and Safeguarding Policies of the Bowls Development Alliance. In addition we have our own complaints procedure for any complaints about members in terms of conduct and behaviour that is not related to safeguarding. We believe our membership policies are open and fair to ensure our sport is open to all, irrespective of age, ability, gender, race, faith, background or ability. Details of these internal policies can be found in our Club Handbook

Our Safeguarding Officer is Lis Watson who has attended and been involved in Safeguarding over a number of years through her roles in Scouting and latterly as a Coach at Hornsea Bowls Centre. Any Safeguarding concerns should be reported to Lis who will treat them in the strictest confidence and follow the procedures set out in our policies. The Safeguarding Officer does not judge situations but is there to enable the secure reporting of concerns so that first steps can be taken.
