Congratulations to Hornsea & District Indoor Bowls Club members Danni Martinson, Katie Baxter and Lydia Cutmore who have all gained England team places after last weekends trials. Lydia has been named for the England Under 25’s ladies team, Danni is in the Senior Ladies Team and Katy has been named in both squads! Katy and Lydia both played in the 2015 under 25’s team but this is a well earned recall for them and a new experience for Danni.
The under 25’s will be representing their country at the British Isles Women’s Indoor Bowls Council (BIWIBC) Under 25’s International Series in Nottingham on 11th & 12th February whilst the Senior Ladies play in the BIWIBC International Series on 9th-11th March at Paisley IBC.
Unfortunately a pre-booked commitment meant that Holly Baxter missed the trials for the England Ladies team but she will still get to wear an England shirt when she joins her Hornsea Nationals fours team mates at the British Isles Indoor Bowls Council Championship in Paisley on 12th-14th March 2018. As winners of the EIBA National Fours, Holly, Katy, Danni & Lydia won the right to represent England in the fours competition at this prestigious Championship, again playing teams from Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the Channel Islands.
